Sufi Music plays a central role in the Sema ceremony of the whirling dervishes, accompanied by a form of music known as Ayin (Ritual). The Ney, an end-blown flute, holds great significance in Sufi musical traditions. With a history spanning 4000-5000 years, the ney stands as one of the most ancient musical instruments still in practice today. Made from a hollow reed featuring six finger holes and one thumb hole.

Participants of this workshop will receive an introduction to this traditional instrument and have the opportunity to attempt playing the notoriously intricate ney. Furthermore, attendees can engage with the artist, gaining insights into the instrument, its historical context, and the communities that embrace it.
